About
Started in 2021, EJJC is a nonprofit club of jiu jitsu practitioners dedicated to community, fellowship and improving their technical skills. Members can train at other gyms and still be welcome. Our team prioritizes safety and fosters an inclusive learning environment.
EJJC is an affiliate of Salazar BJJ, under the guidance of professor Marcello "Salazar" Bergo.
Instructors
As a nonprofit club, EJJC's instructors are unpaid volunteers. They value what it means to be a coach, actively supporting the individual member's technical growth and connection to our team. Below we list a few of our instructors. There are other instructors on the team with a wealth of experience and a passion for jiu jitsu.
Aaron Lones
Aaron has been training and teaching since 2003. He earned his black belt in 2015 from Marcello "Salazar" Bergo.
Chris Bauer
Chris has been training and teaching since 2003. He earned his black belt in 2018 from Marcello "Salazar" Bergo.
Membership and Fees
A goal of EJJC is to recruit and retain members of integrity and good character, and we welcome people from all backgrounds. Our club is composed of Elks Milwaukie Lodge #142 members. We are grateful for the partnership with the Lodge board and other members who have provided space and support.
Our members can train at other gyms and still be welcome. We encourage cross-training.
EJJC does not collect fees from its members. An annual fee of approximately $225 is required by the Milwaukie Elks for Lodge membership.

Member Code of Conduct
As a private, nonprofit club, it is critical that our members benefit from an environment that is safe, clean, fun and conducive to an individual's growth in jiu jitsu, and more generally as a human. We believe that to achieve this it is important that all members adhere to a code of conduct. Additionally, as a club within the Milwaukie Elks that is composed of Lodge members, it is important that EJJC members uphold the values and rules set out by the Lodge. https://www.elks.org/who/information.cfm
EJJC families pack gift boxes for kids alongside the Elks Care and Share chair. In 2022 our club raised $1,100 for the program.
